About the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU)
The SNS JU is a pivotal public-private partnership driving Europe’s leadership in next-generation networks. Its ongoing 80 projects, backed by approximately €500 million in EU funding, are crucial to Europe’s goal of becoming a global leader in 6G technology while also accelerating the rollout of 5G.
UNITY-6G is one of the 16 projects selected under the SNS JU Call 3, which has been met with a very enthusiastic response, receiving grant requests totaling €863 million, which was more than seven times the available funding. From this highly competitive pool, 16 projects were selected to support 301 beneficiaries from 25 countries. These projects are now at the forefront of developing and deploying the next generation of network infrastructure, platforms, and services, reflecting a strong commitment from European policymakers, industry stakeholders, and researchers to establishing a robust, competitive, and sustainable digital infrastructure.
