Four Dot Infinity (FDI) is a Greece-based SME with more than 20 years of experience in delivering cutting-edge solutions across 6G networks, Industry 4.0/5.0, and Cloud-Edge-IoT. The company leverages cloud-native and open-source tools, applying them in real-world environments. FDI has deep expertise in 5G and beyond network architectures, including the design and development of AI/ML-based control applications for RAN parameters (such as dApps, xApps, and rApps), collaborative and decentralized intelligence, O-RAN networks, and open-source 5G implementations. FDI is an active member of both the 6G Industry Association (6G-IA) and the AI, Data and Robotics Association (ADRA).
FDI is actively involved in all technical aspects of UNITY-6G. It leads the definition of use case requirements and the identification of relevant KPIs and KVIs, and contributes to work focused on O-RAN networks. FDI also leads activities related to AI-driven distributed intelligence and the AI/ML sublayer of the UNITY-6G architecture, with the goal of developing xApps, dApps, and conflict management software components. In addition, FDI contributes to the design of the service-based architecture (SBA) and lifecycle management, and plays a central role in the second proof of concept (PoC#2), where it provides AI/ML-based real-time closed control loop capabilities in a multi-RAT RAN network. A key part of FDI’s contribution is the integration of the AI/ML sublayer into the UNITY-6G architecture and the implementation of xApps and dApps featuring diverse AI/ML algorithms for radio resource management (RRM), conflict mitigation, and demonstration in PoC scenarios.
Participation in UNITY-6G offers FDI several strategic benefits. It provides an opportunity to integrate new knowledge that will enhance its existing AI/ML services for beyond-5G networks, while fostering collaboration with consortium partners to offer AI as a service through xApps and dApps. The project also supports FDI’s goals to commercialize AIaaS solutions and transfer innovative technologies related to artificial intelligence and digital apprentices. Furthermore, it enables FDI to leverage established partnerships and B2B or B2C relationships to drive future adoption of AI/ML services and maximize the exploitation potential of its technological developments.
