Software Radio Systems (SRS) is a globally recognized leader in trusted open software for mobile wireless networks. Its high-performance, portable, and scalable 4G and 5G RAN solutions are developed in-house, delivering complete L1/L2/L3 stacks from I/Q to IP.
SRS offers srsRAN Enterprise 5G, a full stack RAN software solution for Private and Enterprise 5G. It has a modular and flexible architecture and supports deployment options ranging from integrated small cells to cloud-native vRAN and Open RAN.
With a proven track record in the design, development, and commercial deployment of custom network solutions – including complex terrestrial and non-terrestrial use cases – SRS enables customers to create innovative mobile wireless products and services.
SRS brings its extensive expertise in high-performance, scalable, and deployment-ready 4G and 5G RAN solutions to UNITY-6G, focusing on advancing the development of srsRAN Enterprise 5G. As part of the project, SRS will enhance the xHaul capabilities of srsRAN Enterprise to deliver flexible, cost-effective solutions capable of meeting the high traffic demands of 6G. SRS will also integrate Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) functionality into srsRAN Enterprise, expanding on the existing URLLC features within srsRAN Enterprise. In addition to developing new functionality, existing features such as the E2 and O1 interfaces will be extended to allow for AI-enhanced network management. These efforts align with UNITY-6G’s mission to create a unified, scalable, and AI-native architecture that bridges terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks while maintaining a commitment to the project’s sustainability goals.
SRS’ expertise in delivering complete L1/L2/L3 stacks ensures seamless integration of advanced functionality across TN and NTN use cases. As a trusted leader in open software for mobile wireless networks, SRS is well-positioned to drive innovation within UNITY-6G, enabling the development of real-time, scalable, and sustainable solutions that meet the diverse requirements of 6G networks and the goals of the project.
SRS’ participation in UNITY-6G is as a strategic opportunity to advance the development of high-performance, scalable RAN solutions for private and enterprise networks. The focus of UNITY-6G on AI-native architectures, sustainability, and the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks is aligned with the vision for srsRAN Enterprise. Through this project, key features such as AI-enhanced network management, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), and energy-efficient architectures will be further developed to ensure alignment with 6G innovation.
Additionally, the involvement in UNITY-6G enables crucial collaboration with leading industry and academic partners, allowing for hands-on interoperability testing with network elements from other vendors, advanced features to be integrated across diverse use cases, and contributions to be made toward shaping the future of 6G standards. This participation ensures that SRS technologies are positioned to meet the demands of next-generation networks while supporting scalable and sustainable RAN solutions.
