UNITY-6G partner joins WiTaR Working Group

We are excited to announce that Purva Joshi, a researcher from DLR, has joined the “Women in telecommunications and research (WiTaR)” Working Group.

WiTaR is an initiative dedicated to promoting gender equality, inclusion, and empowerment within the 6G research and innovation community. Chaired by Bahare Masood Khorsandi from Nokia, the group works to close gender gaps and increase the participation of women in the field. By fostering a supportive environment, WiTaR aims to break down barriers, promote the visibility of women’s achievements, and inspire the next generation of women leaders in telecommunications. The group also focuses on increasing the engagement of women in 6G research and developing role models for junior researchers.

I’m honored and excited to join the WiTaR working group,” says Purva. “My research at the Institute of Communications and Navigation in DLR, which explores the future of communication with 6G integrated in satellite communication, has shown me how critical innovation is—and true innovation can only happen when all voices are heard. I look forward to working with WiTaR to break down barriers, promote inclusivity, and empower the next generation of women leaders in telecommunications and research overall.”

Purva’s participation reinforces UNITY-6G’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive research environment. We look forward to the contributions she will make to the WiTaR working group.
